The cooperative

The primary aim of the Social Cooperative “Eco-School of Earth” is to promote a genuinely ecological way of life as a means to protect our environment—now more than ever under threat. Our work embraces everything that makes ecology real in both thought and action: cultivating the land, everyday living, safeguarding and strengthening ecosystems, architecture, social structures, culture, and the philosophical development of the human being.

Why We Exist

Our cooperative was born from an urgent need to address two vital questions:

  • Can we stop the unchecked, profit-driven human interference with nature?
  • If yes, how do we change awareness so that people—especially the next generation—become carriers of this consciousness and reshape how we interact with the natural world?

A third, practical concern guides us as well:

  • As we face the physical and psychological consequences of our distorted relationship with nature, can a true ecological practice help us heal today and inspire a better future?

Our Answer

We believe there is still time to turn things around. The people who can transform humanity’s relationship with nature are today’s children. By nurturing their awareness through steady, hands-on interaction with the environment, we plant the only lasting hope that tomorrow’s adults will live in genuine contact with nature—respectfully, and with moderation in how we use its resources.

How We Act

We draw strength and practical methods from Social & Therapeutic Horticulture (also known as Beneficial Horticulture). Through concrete, implementable programmes, we aim to:

  • Support people facing today’s bodily and emotional challenges
  • Restore a healthy, respectful relationship between humans and nature
  • Help reveal the inner capacities we each carry, so we can live more healthily and productively with the world around us
